Fiona O’Brien, MVB, was awarded the 2011 Interchem Ireland Ltd Bursary Award at the conferring of degrees in veterinary medicine. This was the fourth year of the prize.
The award is presented for the best small animal case report in final year. The case winning report involved the presentation of a four-year cavalier King Charles with icterus, which prompted an investigation into the pre hepatic, hepatic and post hepatic reasons for icterus. The presentation also included the diagnosis, treatment and management of icterus depending on the underlying cause.
“We recognise the great work that is being done by the veterinary faculty in University College Dublin and are delighted to be associated in partnership by making a contribution as proud sponsors of this bursary,” said Oliver Dillon of Interchem.
